This accolade is a significant recognition of her profound impact on the classical dance form of Bharatanatyam, which is deeply rooted in India's cultural heritage.


Her unwavering commitment and exceptional skill in this traditional art have not only enhanced its stature but have also served as a source of inspiration for numerous aspiring dancers. The Rabindra Ratna Puraskar is awarded to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the arts, and Dr. Shanmugapriya's receipt of this honor highlights her remarkable talent and dedication to the preservation and promotion of Bharatanatyam.

In addition to her artistic achievements, Dr. Shanmugapriya has a rich educational background, having studied for three years at the Tamil Nadu Government Music College, where she earned a special level gold medal for her exceptional performance in 2011. She is the founder of the Sri Aadi Sivasakthi Natyalai dance school, located in Dindigul, Vadamadurai, and Ayyalur in Tamil Nadu.


Over the past 14 years, she has dedicated herself to nurturing young talent through her school, guiding her students to participate in world record events, where they have earned various certificates and medals. Her commitment to fostering the next generation of dancers is evident in her efforts to provide them with opportunities to showcase their skills on significant platforms.


Moreover, Dr. Shanmugapriya has been actively performing at various sacred venues during Maha Shivaratri for the past 14 years, further solidifying her reputation in the dance community.
