Government to table White Paper in Lok Sabha today highlighting economic situation in country during Congress-led UPA rule

Government will bring white paper in the Lok Sabha today highlighting the country's poor economic condition during UPA rule. Talking to reporters outside parliament, Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal said, the economic situation that Congress had put in the country before 2014 needs to be mentioned. He said, white paper was part of the interim budget presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

Meanwhile, Congress has come up with a Black Paper against the government. Releasing the document in New Delhi, Party President Mallikarjun Kharge alleged that the current government doesn’t talk about main issues like unemployment in the country.  He said the NDA government's  tenure is marked by high rates of unemployment, economic mismanagement,  demonetization and poor implementation of  GST. He also alleged that discrimination is being done by the Centre with non-BJP states like Kerala, Karnataka and Telangana.

Senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad came down heavily on Congress over its black paper saying the Congress led UPA government was known for policy paralysis and the country's economy was in fragile five during its rule. He told  media outside Parliament, India has become the fifth largest economy in the world under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. He  said the inflation was at 11 percent during UPA rule which has come down drastically under the present regime. Mr. Prasad added that India has reached the second position in mobile manufacturing. The  BJP leader also said  that UPA's mismanagement of economy will be exposed through white paper.
